In sight that two new copper rain chains are on their way to get out to the market, Golden Canary is now working on upgrading the first chain that it launched 8 months ago (the school bell shaped cups one) to match the new standards and characteristics the new ones feature. The improvements were made on the following areas: product, package, and inserts; and today it’ll be discussed about the first one, that is, what new elements will the product include.
There are two main features on which founders, Alejandro and Miguel, worked for improving the rain chain. The first is the sheet thickness from which the cups are made. The previous models, although completely functional, sometimes presented scenarios in which the cups couldn’t resist the rough shipment handling or any other customer maneuver and ended up being bent and damaged. Therefore, Miguel analyzed the situation and planned for an increase in the raw material’s thickness (sheet from which the cup is pressed), one that would give enough stiffness to the cup but would not elevate the cost of production significantly.
Together with the new cup thickness, Golden Canary will upgrade this rain chain model to a pure copper one as well. Taking into consideration that the original ones had pure copper cups and a copper plated aluminum chain, the new variation for the school bell shaped cup will come with pure copper cups and pure copper chain, making it an all copper item. This decision was taken with the desire to create more value for customers and will be applied soon too to the ship bell shaped cups chain, which is the second item they launched to the market.
So these are the cool new things people can expect from the Golden Canary brand in the upcoming months regarding the product itself, possibly for the end of July; and it’s interesting to know that founders Alejandro and Miguel were able to come up with these upgrades as part of a feedback loop in which they engaged with their customers. They made it a common practice to take note of all the comments and reviews, positive or critical, and molded the new rain chain variations according to the feedback received.
Next time, it’ll be discussed the new package and its benefits, so stay tuned!
