Chain Extensions and Cups Will Be Sold Separately Too

If there’s one thing that Miguel (co-founder of Marrgon’s Golden Canary brand) wants his business to be known for, it’s an over the top interaction with customers through premium support, communication, and sincere relationships.

During the last two months, as the two models of rain chains Golden Canary offers on Amazon took off, many emails from customers arrived asking if any separate chain links or cups were sold to complement the now 6 foot long copper rain chains.

Reading customers comments and recording the data of their needs, Miguel decided it was time to take action and start working on a project that would allow the business to satisfy customers 100%. So to take a closer look to what the brand is going to work on, let’s first discuss the situation.

Golden Canary Copper Rain Chains are 6 foot long primarily because they were thought to be used with rain barrels. This is, a year ago, when market research was being performed, the chains were aimed at sustainable garden enthusiasts who would use the item to direct water and store it in a rain barrel; hence the 6 foot length made it perfect so the item could fit between the roof’s gutter and the barrel.

However, after almost a year of operating, Miguel noticed that they were reaching another segment of customers who didn’t use a rain barrel; either they purchased the copper rain chain for decorational purposes or as an attractive way to get water from the roof to the ground; in other words, as a downspout replacement. Therefore, people needed an item with a length that ranged from 8 to 9 feet and that could properly hang from the gutter all the way down to the ground.

Analyzing the data that Miguel recorded through customers’ feedbacks, he came to the conclusion that the average extra length that each customer needed was 3 feet. So after discussing the findings with this brother and business partner Alejandro, they both decided that in order to not “harm” customers who bought the rain chain to use it with a rain barrel by only offering 9 foot long items (creating a more expensive product); they would start working on the project of manufacturing and getting available for sale packages sold separately with a 3 foot long chain extension and 3 additional copper cups.

This way, customers who only needed 6 feet will still be able to find the original item and those who needed some extra length would be able to customize their rain chain at a fair price by simply purchasing another package in the same item’s order.

The project is intended to be finished by this year’s Christmas holiday season and the new copper rain chains’ extensions will be available on Amazon.com as well. Miguel commented he will be sharing updates on it through Golden Canary’s Facebook page and will surely let people know when the new items arrive and are ready for sale.
