The Brand Shares its Goals and What It Will Do to Achieve Them

As discussed in previous posts, August is an expansion month for Golden Canary; there are 2 new copper rain chain models that are on the final stages of the preparation for the launching event and the brand entered the Canadian market. Despite these activities reaching a conclusion during the month, a new project is being born too, which, the brand’s founders Alejandro and Miguel, believe will help them penetrate even more the market by focusing on specialization and create more value and purchasing options for their customers.

So having now a little background of what’s happening with Golden Canary, let’s discuss what can be expected from it at the end of 2016, as co-founder Miguel recently shared: “It’ll be a couple of busy months because we’ll make all that’s possible to bring people new products and features they’ve asked for as well as a couple of new surprises.”

The brand just entered the Canadian market last week and ran a launching event 10 times smaller than it would normally do in the US market; this, for two main reasons: Canada’s population being 10 times smaller than the US’s and Amazon’s market being significantly smaller in the former country (a known fact although not having enough data available to determine how much smaller). Golden Canary is still waiting for a pair of reviews to arrive which it forecasted it should receive after the launching event; however, even though the Rain Chain’s listing is brand new, it has made several sales during the last days and this situation helps define the brand’s first objective for the year: sell 60 monthly units for the end of 2016.

Regarding the US market, there will be 4 copper rain chain models available for sale on Amazon.com and the plan for Golden Canary is to have the 4 of them in the Top 10 of the rain chain category on the e-tailer’s site. How does it plan to do this? As stated above, the brand is working on a new project that consists on offering, through Amazon as well, chain links and individual cups that will allow customers to customize the rain chain’s length, being it a standard 6-foot-long or adding length until 9 feet. This way, the brand will be able to serve the two different kind of customers it has identified: the ones who purchase a 6 foot long rain chain to place it over a rain barrel and the ones who buy it as an attractive downspout replacement to get water from the roof all the way down to the ground.

Wrapping it all together, there are 3 main goals Golden Canary is planning to achieve by the end of the year, which translate into added benefits and new products for customers. The first, regarding the Canadian market, is to reach 60 customers each month with the School Bell Shaped Cups Rain Chain; the second, in the US market, to have the 4 rain chain models in the Top 10 ranking, up and running for the Christmas holiday season; and finally, third, to achieve the second objective by having the extensions ready for the holiday season as well.
