Because You Deserve More Than a Rain Chain

Being a small family owned business, Marrgon (owned and ran by my brother and I) gives us both the opportunity to be close to our customers and the everyday operation, which without any doubt, helps us receive valuable information about your needs and desires. So here’s a little secret: whenever you find a signature from someone who helped a customer or answered a question, it will be mine, Miguel Lozano.

The business position I currently love more and find a passion in doing is customer service. I’ve labeled that position a “Customer Experience Representative” as part of my vision in which people (who in the future will work as one of these representatives) should focus on providing the best experience for customers, not just a plain good service, because I believe a “good service” should be the least that a business should offer. On the other hand, my brother Alejandro is in charge of the business’s finances and every other aspect that has to do with numbers, but for now, I’m going to share with you what I’ve been working on as it will be something that will definitely add value to you whenever you purchase one of the Golden Canary Copper Rain Chains.

As part of this experience that I want to create for you, I wrote a PDF file that will be sent to each person who buys a chain. The web document will reach the customer’s email as soon as he signs the rain chain as received from the carrier and I decided to include in it several topics that I’ve noticed people want to learn more from.

Before continuing, it’s important to note that this file was able to be created thanks to the daily interaction I’ve had with customers so far; receiving their feedback, congratulations, comments, and suggestions. The PDF starts with a brief introduction to rain chains: what are they and where did they originate. Then, it talks about the benefits of buying a copper rain chain, subject I decided to cover as we recently changed all our rain chain models to all pure copper ones, making it an authentic copper item. As a sneak peek, some of the benefits are: copper’s sustainability and infinite recyclable life, being a virtually a 100% maintenance free item, it’s durability that makes it last for decades, the importance of copper as an essential mineral to nature, and the ease of installation and handling for all of you DIY enthusiasts.

Next, I share some methods to take care of the rain chain: cleaning it to keep it bright and shiny or accelerating the patina formation process; although I personally don’t recommend cleaning or spraying any chemical on the item. Copper is a great metal that protects itself from oxidation and rust by developing a patina, and it’s this same patina development process that gives copper items their appeal. However, several people have asked for more information on this topic, so I included them in case anyone would want to experiment with it.

Finally, which is the case for many of our customers, I included a quick tutorial on how to add or remove length from the rain chains. This is, a simple process to remove chain links or cups from an item or a way to connect two rain chains together to form a single one of a desired length.
